Landscape CLEANUP

  • Next-level attention to detail and familiarity with TX native plants, wildflowers, pruning techniques etc. You can set us loose in your garden.

  • Day rate at $500 (excluding major tree work, extensive power equipment use or special projects

  • Helper day rate at $300 (if applicable)

  • Haul-off 75-100 per load (depending on volume and type of debris, excludes use of trailer)

  • For materials purchase, a project management charge may apply

TREE TRIMMING (NON-AERIAL)

  • Ground based tree work (lower limbs and small trees ie: <30’ high)

  • Day rate at $650

  • Helper rate $300

  • Haul-off at $75-150 per load (the latter if our work results in a full, 10’ x 5’ trailer of material)

    TREE PLANTING

  • Planting cost is the same as retail cost of tree, minimum $250

  • Delivery cost based on ZIP code ($75-100 Austin area)

  • Planting materials (mulch, amendments, extra soil) at cost

    the above applies to instances where the client has already selected a tree for purchase
    ***discount may be given for multiple trees

    GARDEN COACHING

  • 2 hour visit during which advice/instruction on most facets of gardening in Austin given $250

  • During this time I can work with you/instruct you how do basic landscape maintenance

    • pruning, composting, planting, watering, sowing seeds, etc.

  • Follow-up email to answer any further questions requiring off-site research

  • If you would like me to perform the work prescribed, the prices from this schedule apply

    LANDSCAPE DESIGN/INSTALL

    (prices are approximate, meant to give a general idea and subject to change based on demand. 8/24/24)

  • 1. Consultation cost for a new landscape install starts at $250 which includes:

    • Around 2hrs onsite with a seasoned Austin garden professional and ISA Certified Arborist® (TX-4532A)

    • ID of the vast majority of common landscape plants of Central Texas

    • Integrating tree management into a landscape plan

    • Discussion of water-optimizing earthworks options to capture and maximize rainfall

    • Real-time ideas that reference specific plants we can lookup together on our phones

    • Lots of things you hadn’t even realized about the garden pointed out to you

    • Advanced-level, botanical jargon used and explained when applicable

    • Which of your weeds you can eat

    • Why your grass/shrubs/trees etc are sick/dead and remediation options

    • Emailed summary of our visit and design cost estimate

  • 2. Design is bid according to a day rate of $500. Typically a modest front yard design with minimal hardscape features will start at $1500-2000 incl. tax

    • Design package will Include:

      • Hand-drawn site plan illustrating locations of various elements

      • Outline of specific plants selected to thrive in each particular space

      • Elevation drawings, or renderings to confer layout

      • Reference photos from previous projects or design inspiration (when required)

      • Design minimum $1000

  • 3. Install day rate of $500 for my labor and $300 each additional helper

    • Materials at retail cost (may incur delivery charge based on ZIP for larger items: trees, rocks, stone etc.)

    • Project MGMT and procurement cost/install prep @ day rate ($500)

    • Haul-away of materials cost is based on amount and type and can range from $75 (organic debris)-$250 (trailer-full of inorganic material/debris/trash)

  • AVERAGE COST for Comprehensive Landscape Install of entire property will typically cost about 10-15% of median value of similar property:

    • Example of comprehensive landscape install cost:

      • Home value $500,000

      • Comprehensive landscape install cost: around $50,000 for complete front and back yard, or

      • $25,000 Front yard, including:

        • Design

        • Moderate earthworks (berms, swales, dry creek, etc.)

        • Hardscape pathways

        • Boulders

        • Mid-size trees and shrubs, grasses, perennials etc.

  • A portion of a landscape install may be divided roughly along those terms, ie: 1/4 of a front yard at the above ballpark figure: $6500 or so + tax, (excluding design cost) and less if hardscape materials are not needed in large quantity.
